Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS drivers Jack Miller and Tito Rabat finished together in the points at the Aragon Grand Prix held this weekend near Alcañiz.
The race having taken place on a warm and sunny track, Miller et Rabat had to measure the level of grip during the twenty-three races on the Motorland circuit in Aragon.
Miller ranked thirteenth, the position he occupied on the starting grid, and now occupies twelfth place in the MotoGP general classification with 56 points.
With a higher temperature than the tests, Miller decided to start with the hard rear tire, an option which did not allow him to fight to get into the top ten that he was hoping for.
The rain having disrupted the first day of testing for this Aragon Grand Prix on Friday, the drivers lacked time to try the different tire options.
In front of his home crowd, Rabat finished the race in fifteenth position even though he had started from 21st place on the starting grid. Although the race was difficult for him, the Spanish driver never gave up. He only finished 0.5 seconds behind eleventh place.
The championship will resume in three weeks in Japan for a race which will be followed by two trips to Australia and Malaysia.
Jack Miller: 13th
« Although I am relatively satisfied with the way the race went today, the result was not really what I was hoping for, even if I finished with a few points. I had chosen the hard rear tire and I expected better. This unfortunately didn't work as I thought it would. The weekend remains positive because I had good feelings with the bike, especially with the front. We just lacked a bit of traction as we couldn't get the hard rear tire to work properly. »
Tito Rabat: 15th
« I'm still aiming for better than fifteenth place, and so I didn't get the result I was hoping for, but the day remains positive nonetheless. I did a good job in the race even though I started from quite far away. It's a good thing for confidence, and I still get into the points. We now have to think about the next race in Japan »
Michael Bartholemy: Team Principal
« It's always important for the team to see its two drivers finish the race in the points. This is what we did today. We also took a lesson today with the choice of tires because there was no big difference in the length of the race between the options available to us. I thought before the start that Jack could do better but he found himself in difficulty... So we must be satisfied that he was able to score a few points. Tito, for his part, fulfilled his mission by also finishing in the points in front of his audience »
