The Englishman from the Pramac Racing team was relatively successful at MotorLand on Friday in the wet, setting the sixteenth best time of the day ahead of Maverick Vinales, Jonas Folger and Danilo Petrucci.

So far everything was going well, but things were going to get complicated little by little for the Andorran resident, therefore a neighbor of the circuit. On Saturday morning in the dry, Scott once again took sixteenth fastest time, therefore not automatically qualifying him for Q2. In qualifying, he only achieved the twelfth time in Q1 out of fourteen and the message was said: he would make up the last row of the 100% British starting grid with Bradley Smith et Sam Lowes.

He gained four places at the start of the race and was quickly in eighteenth position, before progressing to fifteenth on the eighth lap, after overtaking Bradley Smith, Danilo Petrucci and Karel Abraham. He maintained this fifteenth place throughout the race, then moved up one position on the last lap, passing Tito Rabat.

In the championship, this allowed Redding to move up to twelfth place tied with Jack Miller, the Australian having finished just ahead of him in Aragon. It was one of Scott's poorest results this year, having finished in the top 10 four times.

According to Scott Redding, who are " I can't say I'm satisfied with this weekend. Qualifying went poorly, but I tried to stay focused and catch up. I managed to have a good race pace and that gives me confidence for the next three consecutive Grands Prix. »
