Officials have just released a new press release of which we offer our translation here.
Procedure for the April 3 MotoGP race
The race distance is reduced to 20 laps.
- If the race starts in the dry
Riders must change motorcycles at the end of the 9th, 10th or 11th lap.
If rain arrives and Race Direction considers the situation dangerous, the red flag will be waved and all drivers will have to enter the Pit Lane.
The teams will then have 15 minutes to adjust the motorcycles, between the presentation of the red flag and the reopening of the Pit lane.
The second part of the race will be 10 laps. Grid positions will be based on the result of the first part of the race and the restart of the race will be declared “Wet”.
- If the race starts in the wet
Riders can only enter in front of the garages to change motorcycles from the end of the 9th lap.
If the wet race is stopped at the red flag for other reasons when more than 13 holes have been completed, then the result will be confirmed and there will be no restart.
