Faced with the real puzzle that the officials of this Argentine Grand Prix must resolve, and to which is added a shortage of gasoline to carry out an additional test session for the MotoGP, new measures have just been announced .

Here is our translation.

  • If the race starts with a dry track, and if the Warm Up also took place in the dry, then the drivers must start the race with the “Option” tire and it will last the scheduled 25 laps. If the track becomes wet, the normal “flag to flag” procedure will apply.
  • If the race starts in the dry while the Warm Up took place in the wet, then the drivers can use any of their rear tires (Medium or Hard, in the case of the allocation for Argentina) . However, the race will be declared "flag to flag" for 20 laps with a mandatory stop to change motorcycles at the end of lap 9, 10 or 11.
  • If the race starts in the wet and the track dries, then Race Direction will decide if it is not safe to continue, and in this case the red flag will be shown. A new dry race will then be restarted for 10 laps, with a starting procedure reduced to 15 minutes. If the track becomes wet again during this race, then the riders could change bikes as normal.
  • If the race starts in the wet and the track remains wet, then it will run for the scheduled 25 laps.

Under no circumstances will it be permitted to use intermediate tires.
