During an interview carried out yesterday with journalists in the Termas de Rio Hondo paddock, even before the first sessions took place, Jorge Lorenzo addressed various subjects including his latest tests in Jerez and, above all, his gradual adaptation to the Ducati.

Regarding the tests in Andalusia, the Mallorcan driver declared them positive, explaining that he still uses the settings from Qatar and that he also tried some parts that have been validated for the future.

Talking about his future performances in Argentina, the Ducati rider declared that we will have to wait until FP2 or FP3 to be able to judge the real potential of the riders.

Then came the subject of its adaptation to the Ducati:   "It's obvious that we want to win from the start, but we find that the adaptation process is more difficult than expected, but I'm going to stay here for two years and we've only done one race. “

Feeling "  stronger and less tired “  on each outing, Jorge Lorenzo admits, however, that his past career in MotoGP has not accustomed him to such difficulties: “  I was spoiled, because I arrived in MotoGP and everything went well from the start, probably with a much easier bike than now. I came in and got pole in the first three races, and then it was eight or nine years where I was spoiled enough to fight for wins and championships. “

However, everything was not so rosy and the five-time world champion remembers his debut in 125:  » there were more difficult times, like in 125, where the first two or three years cost me a lot. It was an adaptation process and when I really got comfortable with the bike I was fast and always stayed that way. “

Number 99 thinks it will be the same with the Ducati:  » I think it's a very similar process, the Ducati is a motorcycle complicated, and if you don't know it, it's difficult to get the maximum performance. It's a bike that rides in a way that's the opposite of how I rode the Yamaha. “

It will therefore take time, but Andrea Dovizioso could save him some time:  » Dovizioso spent five years with this bike and made it for him. He knows every possible trick to get the maximum performance and get it running, while I still need to figure out how to run better. In theory I think I know this, but now we have to put this into practice. “

After these comments made yesterday, Jorge Lorenzo today ranked 15th and 18th during the first two sessions of the Argentine Grand Prix.
