Danilo Petrucci is the life insurance of the Ducati GP17 version during this Argentinian weekend. Already fifth on Friday while the official drivers missed the top 10, the Italian continued his momentum during qualifying at the end of which he took fourth place on the starting grid. Meanwhile, the residents of the factory in red still couldn't find their place in the first part of the table.

Although the rain came, the situation was not upset at Ducati. Andrea Dovizioso et Jorge Lorenzo failed in their quest to reach Q.2, while during this, it was again a GP15 which allowed the Bologna brand to be present at the forefront. Thanks to a Karel Abraham sparkling second.

On the GP17 side, we still relied on Petrucci who did the job by taking control of the second line. A position already known during the last German Grand Prix, and which hardly brought him luck then: “ this position seems a bit like a curse to me and that's why I wanted to go to the front line » laughs Petrux. “ Above all, I knew that she was within my reach ».

« The conditions have been strange. Never too wet, never really dry, the track nevertheless suited me because when there is too much water, you can't make the bike slide. I don't know if I could hold this same position at the finish of a dry race, but it will be important to have a successful start. And I'll be happy with a place in the top eight ».

Will it still be that of the best GP17?
