Above the final result of this first day, namely 4 Hondas in the Top 5, the performance of the Repsol Honda team drivers was quite impressive.

Already very present this morning on a particularly poor track, conceding only a tenth to Dovizioso at the last minute, Marc Marquez truly dominated FP2 from start to finish, relegating all these opponents quite far.
And the only one who, ultimately, was able to come very close to his best time, is simply called Dani Pedrosa.

This evening, smiles were in order in the red and orange clan!

Marc Marquez, 1st, 1'41.579: “the day was a bit strange but, ultimately, the sensations were good and we finished first in the ranking. I think the conditions will change a lot over the weekend, and we could even see the surface improving between the first and second sessions, although to a lesser extent than we expected. So far, the track conditions are worse than last year, so it looks like the times will be far from those of last season. But it will be the same for everyone and we have to deal with it and adapt the bike as well as we can. »

Excluding press release, Marc Marquez also said: “the track was incredible, it was very slippery and looked like dirt track. If we had been on another circuit, I would have been surprised not to see the Yamahas in front, but we know that when there is little grip, the Hondas adapt better. The track will improve this weekend and everything will return to normal. »

Dani Pedrosa, 2nd, 1'41.604: “we were able to ride on a dry track during this first day, and we saw that it was very dirty. It was a bit difficult and the times were a bit slower than we expected. Anyway, we worked as hard as possible on the bike settings, and we also tried different tires, in case it rains tomorrow. It was a positive day, but as always we will try to continue to improve. »
