The three sessions of the morning allowed the Termas de Rio Hondo route to be cleaned up. It was under the Argentinian sun that the Moto3 riders completed their second free practice session, keeping in mind that rain could appear tomorrow.
This morning, the best time achieved, 1'52.467, was well below the best lap of the circuit held by Miguel Oliveira since last year in 1'48.461. This afternoon, the temperatures are gradually dropping.
First it was Niccolo Antonelli who took the advantage at the start of the session. The Italian, 11th fastest this morning, then set a time of 1'51.623, almost two seconds faster than his time from the first session. Enea Bastianini, leader of the morning, then recorded the second time ahead of Brad Binder and Livio Loi. Fabio Quartararo completes the top 5 ten minutes after the start of the session. Note the fall of Tatsuki Suzuki, without consequences for the CIP pilot.
Midway through the session, Enea Bastianini occupies the top of the ranking. Binder and Antonelli again complete the top 3. Bo Bendsneyder, Moto3 rookie in the colors of the Ajo KTM team, sets the 4th time ahead of Loi and Navarro who comes in front of Quartararo.
In the lead, the threat comes from Philipp Oetll. The German placed himself in 3rd position behind Binder and Bastianini and in front of Antonelli. Bastianini continues to string together laps to try to maintain the attacks of his rivals. Fenati will occupy the lead for a moment, but the Gresini driver immediately responds to regain his possession.
Fenati finally finished with the 2nd fastest time pulling his teammate Andrea Migno into 3rd position ahead of Binder, Navarro and Loi. Antonelli made a mistake in the last minute and had to settle for 11th time behind Bulega, Oettl and Quartararo, 8th. Jules Danilo, who took advantage of Bastianini's wheel for a moment, finished in 16th position, one second behind the reference time. Alexis Masbou places the Peugeot in 27th position.
