Just like Johann Zarco, Hervé Poncharal and his men took on the difficult challenge of making the KTM RC16 progress against opponents refined over many years...

Despite the will, the energy, and even the means available to the Austrian factory, this involves a long journey during which it will be necessary to be patient and endure frustrations, which is anything but obvious for any competitor. 'he be…

Also, when progress becomes evident, in this case symbolized by the first points obtained today, the reward and the joy are equal to the difficulties encountered.

Today, Miguel Oliveira finished 11th, in the brothers' saddle backs Espargaró. He therefore scored his first 5 points in the MotoGP category, while on the other side of the box, Hafiz Syahrin confirmed during the race the click noted this weekend.

Of course, the road will still be long and difficult, but it is a very real first step and, this evening, Hervé Poncharal is a happy man.

Hervé Poncharal : “Argentina is definitely a place that the Tech3 Racing team likes. After 2018, we also leave this 2019 Grand Prix with a big smile on our face. From FP1 on Friday morning to the race, we improved each session with both drivers. Miguel did an incredible job. He worked very hard, trying to recover from the slight disappointment of missing the points in Qatar and he made us very happy, and very proud. This is only his second race in MotoGP and I think what he is doing is the work of a well established and experienced MotoGP rider. I would like to thank him and congratulate him. I think he is a great asset to the entire KTM Racing department and we are happy to see Pol and Miguel pushing each other to the checkered flag. I think it's a good thing for KTM to put together all this information about the different riding styles and I want to thank KTM for the good bike we had this weekend. I think it was a very strong weekend, which will definitely give us all a big boost. I wouldn't want to end this statement regarding the Argentine Grand Prix without a special thank you to Hafizh Syahrin, who was a little lost in Qatar. But the way he recovered here in Argentina after FP1 was astonishing. He fought throughout the race with Johann Zarco, he never let anyone pass between the two of them. He attacked from the start of the race to the finish line. At one point there was an error in the race result display and he was 15th, which would have been incredibly rewarding for his effort, but either way top 16 is a good thing. He fought with other riders, he overtook riders like Mir, Rabat, Abraham, Iannone and that's something we are very proud of. We knew he had great potential, but we wanted him to show it with a KTM, which is what he did today. So, once again, well done and thank you very much Hafizh! Our two drivers and the whole team have a week off now and we will see each other in Texas, to pick up from where we left off here in Argentina.”
