8th in FP1, 5th in FP2 and 9th in FP3, Fabio Quartararo always secured his place in Q2, also taking advantage of FP4 to work on his race pace.

During final qualifying, the Petronas Yamaha SRT team rider took advantage of his first run to position himself 7th, before setting the 2nd fastest time 2 minutes from the checkered flag. The improvements of his opponents ultimately place him in 7th position on the starting grid for an Argentine Grand Prix which will include 25 laps possibly carried out in the rain.

This is obviously not what the French rider wants, who has no experience of a MotoGP on a wet surface.

The Argentine Grand Prix will take place tomorrow at 15 p.m. local time, or 20 p.m. in France.

fabio quartararo : “It was a very positive day on a circuit where I had never ridden a MotoGP before. In Qatar we had three days of testing beforehand, and we started with a basic setup. Everything is new here and we started from scratch in FP1. It is good to know that our performance in Qatar is not a coincidence and that with hard work we can achieve good results. It seems that everything indicates that the weather will change tomorrow, but we hope that the race will be dry. We have done a great job so far, achieving all the goals we set for ourselves, and now we will try to have a good race. We had a good FP4, we have good pace and the bike settings are working well, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow and fighting for a good result.”
