Jack Miller happily found a Termas de Rio Hondo route which had reinforced his reputation as an attacker born last year. During a qualifying session that looked like a rodeo, he took pole position on asphalt that was barely drying but was still challenged with slick tires. « I don't know if it's because of the low-grip asphalt, but I'm always fast here" , said Jack Miller after finishing second after the first two Argentinian practice sessions. The 24-year-old Australian actually finished second at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo during the first session MotoGP tests and finished runner-up in Dovizioso from the FP2. This performance earned him second place in the cumulative standings behind the championship leader Andrea Dovizioso. Miller lost only 0,009 seconds to the Italian.
« The bike feels very good. I'm very happy with how everything is working out for us. I was fast in both sessions, even in the morning when I finished the session with very worn tires. In the afternoon with the soft compound, we made significant progress. In FP2, I fell. I just pushed too hard. I tried to overtake Valentino. But overtaking here is extremely tedious, because the track next to the ideal line is completely greasy. I had too much lean on the dirty part, so I fell. We still have some progress to make for Saturday"
