Austin, Moto3, FP1: The Navarro attack in the Americas

It was Jorge Navarro who shot the first arrow on the Austin track which hosts the Grand Prix of the Americas. Riding a motorcycle with a winged coat of arms, he opened the hostilities in Moto3 while Antonelli and Fenati pressed close behind him.

The two Italians are also the only ones to follow the Estrella Galicia team driver under the 2'18 per lap mark. By the way, the best morning time in Austin is 2'17.433, which is still far from the 2'16.195 achieved last year by Kent at the end of a FP3 which was the only one accomplished in the dry.

The sensation is in fourth place with a Canet who makes his first laps on this particular track while Fabio Quartararo closes the top 5. After two consecutive disappointments in Qatar and Argentina, the Frenchman must absolutely launch his season in Texas, a venue that suits him a priori since he finished second in the race there last year.

Law, the championship leader Brad Binder, Mir, also a beginner, Bastianini and Kornfeil are among the top ten. A first part of the ranking where our two other tricolors are missing Danilo, seventeenth and Alexis Masbou, twenty first. It is nevertheless in front of the hero of Termas de Rio Hondo, Pawi, who is satisfied with twenty-fourth place.
