The Honda Repsol rider had surgery on his right wrist just a week ago, and he not only managed to ride throughout the weekend and qualify very well, but also withstood the shock of the race to finish among the first, all on a very technical circuit. A sporting feat that commands respect.

On his return to the box, Dani Pedrosa was exhausted, but happy with himself. Just a few days ago, he himself thought that participating in the Grand Prix would be impossible: “Honestly, before coming here I wasn't even sure if I would be able to do the free practice. It was a tough weekend, especially with this track. On other circuits it is possible to manage the situation with a little less effort, but it is extremely physical. »

Qualified ninth, the Spanish driver knew that the race would be long and hard, and he had to draw on his reserves to finish the race despite taking painkillers: “I wasn't able to enjoy the race as I usually do, although I took some painkillers which gave me some relief and allowed me to concentrate a little more. I still didn't have much strength. »

Dani is extremely tough, and the seventh place he achieved at the end of this race clearly proves his determination:  “I got a good start and tried to stay with the drivers in front as long as possible. In the end I had difficulty controlling the bike, but I managed it and I'm happy with the result. »

Number 26 also wanted to thank those around him, aware that this feat would not have been possible without the others: “I am more than satisfied to have been able to go to the end of the race and to have scored big points. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me over the past few days, as well as the fans for the support they have given me. Now we have a few days to recover as much as possible before Jerez. It's a track I like, so we'll see how much better I feel. »
