Arriving this year in MotoGP, Xavier Siméon is closely watched. If he is still far behind in view of the results, he progresses Grand Prix after Grand Prix by being consistent, and acquires experience which begins to allow him to get closer to the drivers in front of him.

Being a rookie in MotoGP is not an easy thing, and the best riders can find themselves in difficulty, as evidenced by Franco Morbidelli's statements, yet reigning Moto2 World Champion.

Xavier Simeon is no exception to the rule, and is having a rather complicated start, although encouraging because it is regular, without blank results so far, and progressing throughout the race weekends.

The Belgian therefore continued his apprenticeship in Austin. After a complicated Friday, Saturday went better, except during qualifying during which he finished in last position.

Author of a good Warm Up on Sunday morning which placed him in eighteenth place, he had a good race despite a poor choice of tires: “On the one hand I'm happy, and on the other I'm frustrated because we decided to go in the same direction as the other Ducatis, with a hard tire on the front that I had never tried. We thought this choice would be the right one, but I didn't have confidence at the start of the race. Then I managed to be faster, with the same pace as those in the top 15.”

The Italian proverb “Chi va piano va sano” (who goes slowly goes surely) corresponds well to Simeon. The Avintia rider prefers to take his time to tame his machine, without rushing in order to avoid blank results and repeated crashes: “This weekend allowed me to gain experience, and we had a decent pace at certain times. I'm having more and more fun riding my bike, but I continue to be careful not to make mistakes. Now we are going to Jerez to continue our progress. »
