Last weekend, the Motegi route finally gave the troops the opportunity Suzuki to smile. It was also the best time to do it since, in the box, was the big boss of the brand, Toshihiro Suzuki. With a group shot in fourth and fifth places, the honor of the GSX-RR was safe. What now remains to be confirmed in Australia is what appears to be a recovery.

An improvement in the situation which will however not be easy to demonstrate since the Phillip Island track has rarely rewarded the Suzukis. The brand has only signed two podiums there: in 2006 when Chris Vermulen had finished second and ten years later with third place in Maverick Vinales.

Andrea Iannone, who finished second last year with the Ducati, however, remains hopeful: “ I love this track and I hope we get lucky with the weather. In Japan, it rained enough as it was! During the off-season tests we encountered minor problems, but my pace was good. The result from Japan gave us hope. In fact, it's a good thing that we attack this Grand Prix in the wake of the previous one. ».

It will also be necessary to count on alex rins who gave his teammate a hard time before resigning himself to fifth position: “ the Phillip Island track is incredible and one of my favorites. I am motivated after the great result at Motegi. During the winter tests my feelings were not bad and now I have a little more experience. I think the track will suit the GSX-RR and I hope the weather will be better than in Japan ».
