Barely alighting from his official Yamaha M1 after arriving in third position in a breathtaking Australian Grand Prix, Maverick Vinales spoke to the site's microphone MotoGP.com, shared between a certain disappointment and the satisfaction of having found a competitive machine.
Congratulations ! What a third place here at Phillip Island, and right on the line! Did you save your rear tire for the last corner?
Maverick Vinales : “Honestly, the strategy was different. I saved the tire until the end, to try to escape on the last lap. I had contact with Johann and Andrea and that ultimately set me back a lot. Honestly, the feedback was very good, the bike was working very well today and I'm very happy with that. During the warm up, we also improved a lot in the wet, so I congratulate the team who did a great job. »
