The brief press conference held ahead of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island brought together Marc Márquez, Andrea Dovizioso, Valentino Rossi, Fabio Quartararo, Jack Miller, Johann Zarco and Iker Lecuona.

As usual, we report here the raw words of Fabio Quartararo, without the slightest journalistic interpretation.

Fabio, you are having such a fantastic journey right now. The Yamahas work well here, you love fast corners, so maybe this is one of the best opportunities to take your first victory?

fabio quartararo : “(laughs) yes, I think that as you say, the Yamahas suit this circuit very well, but we will see the conditions. As Marc says, the weather is very good today but it looks like it will be rather complicated during the weekend. We must not focus on winning but simply do the same work that we have been doing since the beginning of the year, step by step, and take into account the temperatures and the tires. I think it's a track that I really like, with its fast corners, and the Yamahas look good there. So we will do our best, and that will be enough. »

The weather forecast is not very good and you have spent little time in the wet. What were your feelings?

“As you said, we don't have much experience in the wet, but we had a good feeling in Buriram and Motegi. Of course, if we had these kinds of conditions, we would try to adapt to them very quickly, because we know that here, even if it rains and there is a little wind, the track dries very quickly. We will do our best but I think we are not doing very well in the wet. »

Do you have any advice to give Iker Lecuona for next season?

“I don't have a lot of experience in MotoGP, but the first test, when you get on the bike, it's really strange. You don't even control the bike and the bike controls you. So it's really not easy during the first test because you don't know how to ride the bike during the first laps. So I would just tell him to take his time because of course it's not easy to ride a MotoGP bike fast. But I think if he takes it step by step, he can be fast. »

Social media question: If you had a time machine, would you prefer to see yourself in the past or in the future? And why ?

“I think I'm not that old (laughs) so I would go to the future, the distant future, to see how my career went. »
