A circuit on which he dominated last year in Moto2, and progress in the area of traction when exiting corners: what more can Johann Zarco ask for?

Not much because, apparently, the cocktail is effective since the Tech3 driver concluded his morning session in sixth position before reaching fourth in the afternoon.

The passage to Q2 is certainly not yet assured, and the French driver is well aware of this, but one thing is already certain: Tech3 and Johann Zarco worked hard today!

Johann zarco, 4th, 40 laps: “I'm quite happy with how this first day went. We were expecting wet conditions, but ultimately both sessions were held in the dry and I was competitive. When we used the soft tire because it was the safer option, I always finished in the top ten, and today I was just behind the top three. so it was a very good first day because I like this track and everything is going well with the Yamaha. I feel comfortable on the braking so the Tech3 team and I have worked hard on the acceleration, which is strong, and so we can be satisfied when we compare ourselves to the other drivers. I think we can still take a few steps forward to improve because the benchmarks and times from last year are really fast, and I'm sure the best riders will have that speed again. »
