#AustrianGP Moto2 FP2: Morbidelli has the last word against Lüthi

After the, hectic morning session due to heavy rain which filled the infirmary and gave work to the mechanics, the Moto2 riders set off on a track at the Red Bull Ring that was finally welcoming. Because it is dry and heated to 27°. Before the lunch break, KTM was able to strut at home thanks to Oliveira having made the most of the first and only usable quarter of an hour of FP1.

From the start and in 1'30.890, Miguel Oliveira warned that the morning's coup was not a one-off stunt and that we would have to count on the KTM this weekend. After a quarter of an hour, however, it's Morbidely who took the exercise on his own in front of Pasini et bagnaia, or his classmates from the VR46 Academy.

Courses fell then Augusto Fernandez fell while Fabio Quartararo began an astonishing striptease by unzipping his suit before returning to the stand, grimacing. NAVARRO made a mistake at turn 3, his second accident of the day.

As the last quarter of an hour approaches, Olive tree took back the lead with a time of 1'30.720 which was 12 thousandths less than the time of Morbidely… But it's Pasini who took the offensive ten minutes from the goal in 1'30.421 in a ranking where Fabio Quartararo settled in fourth place.

Less than five minutes from the checkered flag, Olive tree signed a good 1'30.394 at the same time as Pasini was falling. The response would therefore not come from the Italtrans driver but rather from a… Lüthi Suddenly out of his lethargy! The Swiss, with a view to the finish, began to line up laps as fast as each other, setting the benchmark in 1'30.242.

But it is ultimately Morbidely who will have the last word by 31 thousandths ahead of his rival for the title. Olive tree is third in front Pasini et Isaac Viñales who is ahead Quarterly. Alex Marquez, bagnaia, Cortese et Nakagami complete the top 10.
