It was under overcast skies but dry weather and a track heated to 27° that the Moto2s were going to perform for their qualifying session in Austria. Since this morning, it was Tom Lüthi who set his pace in front of the beginner Bagnaia who was ahead of his elder from the VR46 Academy, Pasini. Oliveira was fifth with the local KTM while there was concern for Morbidelli in seventh. But the most important thing was now.
To put your thoughts in order, here is the situation table:
#AustrianGP Moto2 |

2017 |
FP1 |
1'30.117 Johann Zarco |
1'31.203 Miguel Oliveira |
FP2 |
1'29.695 Tom Lüthi |
1'30.211 Franco Morbidelli |
FP3 |
1'29.598 Johann Zarco |
1'29.738 Tom Lüthi |

1'29.255 Johann Zarco |
input, Pasini made the talk with a 1'29.394 which brought him closer to the track record established last year by Johann zarco. The two Marc VDS Racing drivers Morbidely et Alex Marquez followed in the ranking but almost half a second behind. But it's still Bagniaia who took the pursuit into his own hands by signing the second performance.
Xavier Vierge, for his part, destroyed his Mistral 610 in a pattern imposed by the laws of gravity, practically following his teammate at the same time. It was also on the parts of the latter's motorcycle that the Spaniard slipped and fell. A solidarity in the misfortune that the Tech3 team would have done without.
One of the most bizarre things we've EVER seen in # Moto2!
BOTH @Tech3_Moto2Team machines crash separately at turn one!😧 pic.twitter.com/vU9xHdzlW8

The first quarter of an hour passed Lüthi take second position and Quarterly the fifth, in front Morbidely. The latter was pushing hard to get into the leading trio. NAVARRO restored a desperate situation and thus avoided a fall and damage to his motorcycle less than twenty minutes before the end of hostilities. A pitfall that could not be avoided Courses which fell at turn 9.
Is this a save or the fastest ever recovery from a crash from @Jorge_Navarro9??!! 🤔 #AustrianGP pic.twitter.com/jxYIXbQGDg

Virgin rejoined the track with a repaired Mistral610 for the final fifteen minutes of the performance. We learned that Danny Kent suffered the martyr since his fall on Friday, but the Englishman replacing Schrotter injured didn't want to throw in the towel.
Five minutes from time, Pasini still held pole position ahead of a bagnaia decidedly peevish and Lüthi who was going out Morbidely of the first provisional line. A strategic position that the championship leader recovered and even better than that since he only failed by a thousandth against a Pasini which therefore takes its second consecutive top position after that of Brno.
Alex Marquez takes the last cone of the first row, leaving the second to bagnaia, Lüthi et Quarterly. Issac Vinales follows as well asOlive tree with the KTM and Nakagami. Despite his misfortunes, Virgin is tenth.
