Andrea Dovizioso took his third victory of the year at the Austrian Grand Prix. A victory that had to be defended until the last corner against the incessant and perilous attacks of Marc Márquez.
Barely got off his official Ducati GP17, Andrea Dovizioso spoke to the microphone of the site MotoGP.com.
Congratulations on your third victory. But I think this time you'll probably remember the fight with Marc. Did you expect the attack in the last corner?
Andrea Dovizioso : “I am very happy, very happy for the team, very happy with the way we worked. This weekend it was very difficult to understand the tires and everything else. The bike performed very well here, Ducati is great, and there is also the new fairing. I have to thank my team. The fight was very good. Marc and I controlled the race because of the tire. Marc is the worst thing you can have when he's behind you during the last few laps. In the last corner I heard he was opening before me so I knew he wanted to try in the last corner. So I braked hard and gave him the chance to overtake me. He was good at stopping his bike but I was a little faster. So I'm happy but it was very difficult to win in these conditions (laughs). But it's very good, three victories this year is very good. »
