Zonta van den Goorbergh and Barry Baltus failed to score points for their team at the French Grand Prix in Moto2. The Belgian driver fell on the third lap, ending his race prematurely, while the Dutchman fell on the sixth lap, however managing to reach the finish. Going through a difficult patch since his podium in Qatar, the first city insists on the need to reset for the next meeting.

After witnessing the passage of its two drivers in Q2, RW Racing GP saw each of Zonta van den Goorbergh and Barry Baltus block the 15th and 16th rows on the starting grid, which left them with a good chance of scoring points important.

Although the two men then each got a good start, gaining several positions, things ended up going wrong and they lost control of their machine at the start of the event.

After finishing his race in the gravel trap in the penultimate corner of the Bugatti circuit, the Belgian did not hide his disappointment, but did not lose hope for the future and maintained a certain optimism for the rest of the season.

“It’s obviously not the race I hoped to achieve in France, regrets the n°7 after the Le Mans event. I made a mistake after three laps and I would like to apologize to the team, who gave their best by doing their job throughout the weekend.

I had a good pace to finish in the top 10, and the fall is entirely my fault, he continues. Before Barcelona, we have to start from scratch to move forward. I would like to thank the team for their involvement in this race weekend, and I apologize once again for making a mistake. »

The Catalan Grand Prix will therefore be an important stage for the Belgian who did not reach the finish during the last two meetings, although he has not scored a single point since his thirteenth place in Portugal.
