The " Leopard case ," which saw Moto3 rider Adrian Fernandez disqualified from the first six Grands Prix of the 2026 season (Thailand, Brazil, United States, Spain, France and Catalonia), took a new turn yesterday, with the International Court of Appeal (ICA) overturning the decisions of the FIM Appeal Stewards dated June 5, 2026!
The competent sporting authorities are ordered to draw the consequences of this decision, that is to say, logically, to restore to the Leopard Racing team driver all the points taken away, namely a total of 77.
This would propel Raul Fernandez 's younger brother from 14th to 5th place in the championship, without completely repairing the moral damage suffered.
Legally, an appeal against this new decision is still possible, but it can legitimately be assumed that it will not take place.
Last night, Team Leopard released the following statement (in English):
On this day, October 15, 2026, the International Court of Appeal (ICA) issued its decision concerning:
The appeals lodged by Leopard Racing and Mr. Adrián Fernández against two decisions taken by the FIM Appeal Stewards on June 5, 2026 , concerning the non-compliance of engines 810 and 811.
The FIM International Court of Appeal ruled as follows:
“ I. The appeals lodged by Leopard Racing and Mr. Adrián Fernández against the two decisions of the FIM Stewards of Appeal dated June 5, 2026, made in the context of the non-conformity of engines 810 and 811, are admissible.
II. The appeals are upheld on the merits, and the decisions of the FIM Appeal Commissioners dated June 5, 2026 are annulled.
III. The competent sporting authorities are ordered to draw the necessary conclusions from this decision.
"In accordance with Article 5, paragraph 3, of the FIM Statutes and Article 75 of the Swiss Civil Code , an appeal against this decision may be lodged with the competent court of the canton of Vaud within one month from the date of receipt of the reasoned decision of the FIM International Court of Appeal."
We thank all our fans who have supported us tirelessly throughout this difficult period.
We sincerely express our gratitude to our experts, all the witnesses, and our legal team, who helped to restore the honor and dignity of the Leopard Racing team and its driver, Adrián Fernández.
