Undisputed star of the AMA championship where he captured the Superbike title three times in 2006, 2007 and 2008, Ben Spies continued his momentum by winning the WSBK championship in 2009 even though he did not know most of the circuits.

The next year, he permanently joins MotoGP as a member of the Tech3 team next to Colin Edwards before spending the following season with Yamaha Factory to join Jorge Lorenzo and replace Valentino Rossi left for Ducati.

Arriving with fanfare in the official team after a 6th place at Tech3, he suffered a lot of injuries and concluded the 2011 season in 5th position overall.

2012 will be the year of disappointment, with a 10th place overall leading to his total withdrawal from competition at the beginning of 2013, while he was driving to Pramac.

Here, Ben Spies has announced that he wants to return to competition to participate in the next 8 Hours of Suzuka, an ordeal that has always made him dream: “Just to silence the rumors; Yes, I am interested in doing the 8 hrs of Suzuka but time will tell. It’s always been a race I have enormous respect for.”
