Carmelo Ezpeleta made this clear during his press conference; the final route of the next Catalan Grands Prix will be studied in Assen.
We remember that if there was almost unanimity for the modification of the disastrous turn #12, it was not the same for #10 since Valentino Rossi and especially Jorge Lorenzo had been hostile to it, before the Doctor made a sudden step back during the post-Grand Prix conference.
Note that to explain the modification of turn #10, not involved in Luis Salom's accident, we have a hypothesis that we will try to verify...
A route needs approval to be able to host races there. In Montmelo, two tracks were approved, that of MotoGP and that of F1 finally adopted. Was this the case for a mixed layout including a modification of turn #12 without the modification of turn #10? Not so sure…
Anyway, between possible obligation to attend the Safety Commission for MotoGP riders, possible opening to Moto2 and Moto3 riders, study of the safest route for Barcelona, measures should be taken at Assen to generally improve safety, not only at Montmelo, but also on all other circuits.
