Nailed to his bed of pain and beginning a fight against time with a view to recovering as quickly as possible, Loris Baz will unfortunately be package for the next MotoGP Grand Prix which will take place in Catalonia. At Avintia, his position will not remain vacant however. The shock interim and talented Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will be at the helm.

Since joining Ducati, Pirro has no time to be bored, while having opportunities to confront high competition. If he is not entered as a guest, such as during the last Italian Grand Prix, he is required to replace the injured riders of the Ducati clan. This year he has already taken the place of Petrucci at Pramac. And here he is called by Avintia to replace Loris Baz convalescent alongside Barbera.

At Mugello, he was in the top 10 with the GP16. In Catalonia, he will find the GP14.2. A bike he knows very well. From this point of view, the Avintia team is expecting interesting technical feedback from the Italian who, if all goes well, will return his position to Baz from Assen.
