On the eve of their trip to England, on the Silverstone circuit, Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez are ready to launch their battle for this weekend's British Grand Prix.

Morbidely  arrives in Great Britain with a twenty-six point lead over Thomas Luthi in the Moto2 world championship standings. The Italian shows solid confidence after erasing the disappointment of his eighth place in Brno by picking up his seventh victory of the season in Austria two weeks ago.

Very different from Speilberg with its wide track and very fast turns, the Silverstone circuit nonetheless remains one of the eight on which last year Morbidely had managed to secure a podium, in this case a second place.

The Italian heads to Silverstone determined to increase his number of victories, which would bring him closer to the record of nine wins achieved in a single season by Marc Marquez in 2012.

Second behind Morbidely in Austria, which allowed the team to obtain its first double of the season, Marquez hopes to be able to finish in the reverse order at Silverstone, a circuit which is among his favorites.

The 21-year-old Spanish rider currently occupies third place in the Moto2 world championship, just twenty-eight points behind third, Lüthi, and fifty-four points from his teammate and leader of the ranking.

Franco Morbidelli:
« It was important to win in Austria after lacking success in Brno. This will allow me to attack the weekend in England with confidence. We will see what the weather has in store for us, as it is always unpredictable at Silverstone, as the circuit also offers a real challenge. The track is long, wide and there are many difficult turns to negotiate. Last year I placed second and it would be nice to do a little better this weekend. This is what we are going to tackle. I have confidence in my team and I know that I will have the best possible package whatever the conditions »

Alex Marquez:
« We are going to Great Britain with great motivation after two good races and two second places in a row in the Czech Republic and Austria. We need to continue the momentum at Silverstone while continuing to work to gain those few tenths that we are still missing to be able to aim for victory every weekend. Silverstone is one of my favorite circuits and one that I have had success at in the past. I think we can get a good result there again. »
