In MotoGP a certain Marc Marquez had just set the new MotoGP track record with a performance under two minutes per lap. In Moto2, the ambition was of course different, but the category was dominated since Friday afternoon by brother Alex Marquez. The latter was therefore expected around the corner…

In the meantime, here is the situation and the reference times…

Without preliminaries, Pasini signed a 2'06.622 which announced a danger to the track record of Sam Lowes established in 2015. The Italian veteran repeated his performance a lap later to the nearest thousandth. Never seen !  Alex Marquez, Morbidely et Olive tree could only observe the damage. agitated was sixth with Suter behind Nakagami and in front Lüthi.

Marquez, Morbidely et Marini and Nakagami joined Pasini below the 2'07 mark but without dislodging him from the lead of the session. Better still, the latter pushed the envelope a little further in 2'06.572 less than five minutes from the goal. Another two tenths and the record was up for grabs for the ItalTrans driver. But we left it there, which was already good since it was synonymous with third pole position in a row!

Alex Marquez et Morbidely complete the first line and Nakagami, Marini then the Suteragitated the second. Olive tree is eighth with the KTM in front Lüthi only ninth. Virgin is thirteenth with the Mistral610 and Quarterly twenty third.
