A pole position of fenati, a good form of Canet during free sessions, a Martin in ambush and a Mir who wants to show in the race that he is indeed the boss this season, such was the atmosphere of this British Grand Prix. An event hosted by a bumpy Silverstone track flooded with a sun that heated its asphalt to 39°. Would the Spaniard from the Leopard team win his eighth victory of the year or would Fenati finally begin to stop his flight towards the title and thus still preserve his meager chances?

Before answering these questions, here is the situation in table:

Before departure we learned about the recruitment of Bo Bendsneyder, current official KTM rider in Moto3, by the Tech3 team for a continuation of his career in Moto2 on the Mistral 610.

It is fenati which initially started perfectly from its peak position in front Mir. Martin got off to a bad start, losing six places as opposed to one Canet already twelfth. Guevara et Rodrigo, the two teammates, tried to take the race on their own from the second lap, but fenati was not at all of this opinion and maintained his lead. In 2'13.025, Martin achieved the new track record of his eleventh place.

In the leading pack we were already starting to jostle, both literally and figuratively. Mir et Di Giannantonio took the opportunity to take the first two places while the RBA drivers and fenati fought like ragpickers.

In a peloton where the top ten were within a second after five laps, Di Giannatonio made a mistake at turn seven, lost four seconds and fell tenth ninth while farmhouse fell for the count. On your mind, Guevara, fenati et Mir orders were exchanged almost every half lap...

Herrera took a three-second penalty for taking a shortcut at turn 4. Nine laps to go Canet took the lead in the blink of an eye. Twenty pilots were truly capable of achieving victory in this Battle of Britain that would take no prisoners. The proof: By Giannantonio was once again at the gates of the top 5 and Law took a few seconds in the lead six laps from the checkered flag!

Guevara went off the track but stayed hard and gave himself a scare in the grass before joining the nineteenth pack directly. Ramirez was falling.

Three laps from the goal, Martin attempted a narrow escape in the lead with Canet et bastianini in pursuit. An ambition quickly thwarted. The last lap promised to be apocalyptic. It will unfortunately never take place. Will Bendsneyder et Guevara clashed violently, ending the party prematurely. Victory was given to Canet while the emergency services were busy around Guevara. bastianini was second and Martin completed the podium. Mir was fifth, ahead fenati seventh. As for Guevara, we learned from his team that he did not suffer from any fracture and that he was conscious.
