Since the start of classes in MotoGP, Marc Marquez seemed to impose his pace and corner this championship, which is more open than ever, in his vice. The break was made in Brno after a good tune-up in Germany. In Austria, it took almost nothing to drive the point home. But Dovizioso is stopping him from going in circles. The Honda official proclaimed to anyone who would listen that Dovi and his Ducati would be there until the end of this campaign. After this twelfth meeting in Britain, many have rallied around his expertise…
Car Andrea Dovizioso once again showed all his mastery on the Desmosedici. We can even say that he is at the top of his DesmoDovi art and we will not forget that before the Honda's engine betrayed a Marc Márquez KO standing, he was in front of the HRC official while sticking to the then leader Red.
All that to say that he didn’t steal this fourth victory of the year. He left two Yamahas behind him, one of which made an impressive last stand with a soft tire at the rear and a Casa Particular in Viñales above.
Every point counted this season and the unit lost counts triple. Marc Márquez was forced to retire and here he is again second overall in Dovizioso. Like after Assen, at the end of June! But this time, he is not four but nine points behind, and, above all, Dovizioso is the only one of the contenders for the crown to claim four successes at this stage of the competition.
So it’s solid. At Yamaha, we don't really know which way to go. The concerns exist and the level seems lower than direct competition. Casa Particular in Viñales finished second with a soft rear tire in front Red who was riding hard and who had led the majority of the time. Casa Particular in Viñales is at 13 points and Red at 26. It's better, but it's not enough.
Pedrosa remains stalled at 35 points while zarco isolates himself in sixth place with 74 lengths behind. Lorenzo is 19 points behind the Frenchman and Crutchlow goes back to eighth at the expense of an unlucky good Folger which was forfeited.
Next meeting in Misano in two weeks!
