Barely dismounted from his official Yamaha M1 after having led the majority of the British Grand Prix but ultimately having had to settle for third position, Valentino Rossi spoke without regrets to the microphone of the site MotoGP.com.

Valentino, congratulations on this third place here at Silverstone. But you did most of the work by leading for 17 laps. What was the problem? Was it the rear tire?

Valentino Rossi : “yes, you know, whatever it is I'm happy because my goal was to get on the podium and I'm on the podium. I'm in the Top 3 after a great race and I think I gave my best from the start to the end. Unfortunately, we know that we are struggling a little in the last laps. With three or four laps to go, I had to slow down by 4 tenths or half a second. So it was impossible against Dovi. And also with Maverick, he had the soft one while I had the hard one, and so I was hoping that mine would have a longer life but in the end he was faster than me. But anyway, I really enjoyed the lead laps, I think I drove well and it's a good result. »
