This was one of the attractions of this Friday and it took place at the end of FP2 of MotoGP. On this occasion, teams and drivers tested a new “flag to flag” procedure. Or the way to change motorcycles in the middle of a Grand Prix when track conditions require it. In Brno, the process was marked by various incidents which could have gone wrong (Iannone and Baz). Corrective actions are proposed. Before judging them on their own, here are the main points.

Two essential elements will be looked at closely. On the one hand a larger space between the second motorcycle aligned at an angle and the one arriving (therefore no more direct jump for Marc Marquez), and on the other hand the discovery of the lollipop man, under whose orders the rider will enter and leave his box with his new motorcycle.

The procedure will then be studied by the Safety Commission for summary. During the press conference, the drivers seemed more than doubtful. But we cannot blame the organizer for seeking solutions to improve safety, nor his concern to systematically consult drivers, each of whom has his own opinion on the question, necessarily different from that of everyone else...

But, speaking more than words, here is Marc Marquez’s test in pictures…
