The very light rain which disrupted the first Moto2 practice session has long since stopped, and although the sun is still shy, the track is now absolutely dry. The air being at 21° and the ground at 30°, the Moto3 riders can therefore try to reach the 2'08.515 established by Enea Bastianini this morning.
Here are the references available for this weekend in the Czech Republic:
Brno | 2015 | 2016 |
FP1 | 2'08.700 by Efren Vazquez | 2'08.515 by Enea Bastianini |
FP2 | 2'08.483 by Danny Kent
FP3 | 2'07.649 by Danny Kent
QP | 2'07.667 by Niccolo Antonelli
WU | 2'08.649 by Miguel Oliveira
Track record | 2'07.622 by Alex Rins (2013) |
The first ten minutes saw the times settle around 2'09.5 while Nicholas Bulega, quick sixth this morning, made a minor mistake at turn #5.
Fastest man this morning, Enea Bastianini
is also the first to break the 2'09 mark during the first run, in 2'08.842.
At the end of it, the Top 10 presents us
Bastianini, Binder, Canet, Loi, Navarro, Di Giannantonio Danilo, Quartararo, Antonelli and Oettl. We therefore note that the two French drivers have progressed well in the provisional hierarchy.
On resumption, it is first of all Khairul Idham Pawi who created a surprise by taking 3rd position… in the dry! But Livio Law also seems in good shape since, all alone and without aspirations, he manages to position himself second in the ranking.
At the end of the second run appear Bastianini, Loi, Binder, Pawi, Canet, Quartararo, Mir, Navarro, Di Giannantonio and Danilo, but Joan Mir is deprived of his time for having crossed the vibrator.
The last minutes see Nicolo Bulega, Jorge Martin, Phillip Oettl and Andrea Migno to mingle with this merry band while Jules Danilo suffered his second small fall of the day, this time at turn #8, but it was ultimately the leader of the World Championship who made everyone agree, in 2″08.047, confirming a track that was generally faster than the last year. However, Andrea Migno only concedes less than a tenth and Enea Bastianini less than two, which sets them apart from the rest of the field, relegated to more than four.
