It is raining on a track in Brno which is preparing for a Grand Prix of the Czech Republic under the so-called “flag to flag” regime. Riders will be able to change motorcycles during the race. In fact, the Grand Prix Commission has decided to look into the issue. And here are the latest decisions.

First, for safety reasons and to reduce the number of people present in the pit lane during machine changes, each driver can only be assisted by a maximum of four mechanics. These mechanics must wear an approved helmet which will also identify them as authorized personnel.

But that's not all. In order to avoid accidental engagement of a gear on the machine, the mechanic holding the motorcycle on which the rider will pass can hold the clutch lever. However, the speed selection can only be made by the driver. Any violation of this rule, which can be determined via ECU data, will be accompanied by automatic disqualification.
