The start of the school year has barely ended when the infirmary is already filling up. In Austria, two drivers had a particularly painful experience with the Red Bull Ring track. Aleix Espargaró crashed heavily on the Styrian asphalt in free practice and Jack Miller made an impressive somersault during warm-up. Both were injured and had to be cleared by the doctors to hold their place in Brno this weekend.
The Spaniard had broken two fingers on his left hand. He still participated in the Austrian race until the end of his physical resistance which gave way three laps from the goal to put him on the retirement list. The Suzuki rider successfully passed the medical examination and will therefore be alongside Casa Particular in Viñales for what is already the 400rd MotoGP Grand Prix.
The situation was more delicate for a Jack Miller suffering from small fractures to the right wrist and the T6 vertebra. Injuries which had cooled the medical team to the point that the Australian had to withdraw. Apparently, things are better since the winner of Assen has this time received the approval of the doctors. A verdict which did not convince the HRC which informed its pilot that he will not hold his rank alongside Rabat within the Marc VDS team.
Miller will return to competition at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.

“Jack is a driver, he has racing in his blood, and he obviously wanted to participate in this Grand Prix after successfully passing the medical test today. However, after discussing with HRC officials and those in charge of his management, we have decided that he will not race this weekend. For us it is important that he takes the time to recover properly from his fall in Austria in order to return to one hundred percent as quickly as possible. Our priority is to have a fit rider on the bike, and that's why we made this decision. »
