Here we go again for the Moto2 who discovered just before the lunch break the new development of the Montmelo track. With its unique chicane, it is a new circuit and new references which will be used for this Catalan Grand Prix. For the moment it is Miguel Oliveira and his KTM who are to be beaten with a time of 1'50.165.

On a completely dry track this time and heated to a little over 44°, we expect to see the pace panic. Before opening hostilities, the Portuguese on the Austrian machine leads the way which will lead him to take, on Sunday, his hundredth career Grand Prix start.

The tone of the afternoon was first set by Alex Marquez in 1'50.580 in a first part of the exercise spent doing as many laps as possible in order to prepare for the race. A thwarted ambition on the side ofAxel Pons who fell at turn 1 after ten minutes had passed. It was less serious for Pawi which pulled straight into turn 4. Nevertheless, the first city settled in a good sixth place with a time of 1'50.900.

As we begin the last twenty minutes, Jorge Navarro decided to shake up the hierarchy by taking the lead in 1'50.497. As a sign of revolt of the latest arrivals in the category since bagnaia was fourth, just over two tenths behind. Fabio Quartararo wasn't that far away, in eleventh place. Virgin was fifteenth with the tricolor Mistral610. But the best performance of the morning was still to be beaten…

The last five minutes saw the Marc VDS patrol come out to take the first two positions. Alex Marquez was the new man to beat in 1'50.047 ahead of his teammate Morbidely dominated by only ten thousandths. We therefore had to distance ourselves a little more, which was what the championship leader meant by gaining the upper hand over whose brother you know by setting the first time below 1'50 per lap: exactly 1'49.731... Yet , the Spaniard spared no effort...

But neither did the Italian since he fell at turn 5 shortly after his performance. During this time, Pasini tried to make his way through the middle of the peloton, narrowly missing hitting Yonny Hernandez.

At the drop of the checkered flag we saw a double for the Marc VDS drivers with Morbidely as a leader in front Alex Marquez for three tenths. Courses entered the leading trio with the SpeedUp and Pasini continued its momentum from Mugello. NAVARRO brilliantly closed the top 5 at Hernandez in full renewal.

bagnaia, seventh did not deserve to be in front Nakagami, Olive tree et Lüthi which locked the top 10. Fabio Quartararo was fourteenth and Virgin only nineteenth.
