Through the agreements they signed with the organizers, the teams are committed to competing in up to 20 Grands Prix per season. Today, there are 18 races that mark the year but, although this has not yet been officially confirmed, there is more and more talk about the Thai Grand Prix which could make its appearance as early as next season (see here).

When asked about the subject, Marc Márquez, Maverick Vinales were rather open on the subject and not hostile to the project. This is not the case of Valentino Rossi who only sees disadvantages...

Valentino Rossi : “I think 18 is already a good number. If we go from 18 to 19, it doesn't change the world. But if it is possible to stay 18, I am happier. In particular, the problem is that I was in Thailand for Yamaha, two years ago, and (sigh) the track is not interesting. It's very boring, there aren't many turns, just long straights. I think this is not the best place to go. And also, where the track is quite bad, it is far from everything. So honestly, I'm not very happy to go to Thailand, on this track. But if we have to go, we will go. »

In an interview, Valentino Rossi had already noted that the Chang circuit, in Buriram, was located almost 400 km northeast of Bangkok, which involves transfers of at least five hours by car. In addition, we don't forget that the Italian champion is not a fervent fan of long-haul plane flights...
