During the official IRTA test in Barcelona on Monday, Maverick Vinales tried a new version of the Yamaha fairing.
This fairing was first tested at Sepang tests in its version with two fins integrated into each side.
Then, we saw it during free practice in Barcelona in a version with still bloated sides, but this time without internal fins.
Monday, Maverick Vinales inaugurated this third version with 3 integrated fins on each side, and more air outlets hidden by fine grilles.
The Spanish rider declared himself very satisfied with it: “Yes, I tried it and it was good because with the fairing we had, on tracks like Mugello, the bike was heavy, here it was quite good . Quite nice to ride with the new fairing. So it was good to test it because it's also important for Assen because we have a lot of wheelies there. »
We should therefore soon see this fairing again in racing in the Netherlands, which will also imply that it will have been approved in this configuration.
Remember that the regulations authorize the dismantling of the internal fins, and therefore that the fairing can be used in version, 3, 2, 1 or 0 fins on each side.
