During a Safety Commission attended by Marc Marquez, Andrea Iannone, Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller, Bradley Smith, Alvaro Bautista, Aleix Espargaro, Andrea Dovizioso, Tito Rabat and Cal Crutchlow, it was decided to change the configuration of the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit for the rest of the weekend and to adopt the route chosen for F1.
This route, including two modifications between turns 10 and 11, then 13 and 15, was tested two years ago during an official MotoGP test but was not selected because it was less attractive and demanding in terms of sport.
As the drivers will have to manage a new track configuration, Saturday's timetables have been modified with sessions extended by 15 minutes.
