The 2022 MotoGP season was so dense that it was difficult for us to follow all the supporting categories, even if the action was often dynamic and interesting. The winter break, however, allows us to summarize the past year, and the drivers concerned deserve it!

After Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, here is a quick summary of the 2022 season of FIM Supersport 300 World Championship.

30 drivers competed this year for the title in the Supersport 300 World Championship, including three Frenchmen: the two holders of the Leader Team Flembbo team, Samuel DiSora et Sylvain Markarian and Hugo De Cancellis under the Prodina Racing WorldSSP300 colors.

Adrian Huertas had won the 2021 championship on a Kawasaki but Samuel DiSora finished in 4th position and Hugo De Cancellis in 12th grade, which augured a great 2022 season for our representatives.

The first round in Aragón was disappointing in this regard, however, the Spaniards Mark Garcia et Alvaro Diaz sharing the first two rounds of the podium while the tricolors navigated in the small points zone.

The harvest was much better at Assen, with in particular a victory for Hugo De Cancellis in the second race after a 2nd place for Samuel DiSora in race 1.

The Marseillaise resonated again at Estoril under the leadership of the latter who had a very good weekend in Portugal, finishing 2nd and then 1st in both races and moving up to 2nd place in the championship behind Mark Garcia.

Misano, which marked the halfway point of the season, was still generally positive for the French, with 20 additional points scored by Hugo De Cancellis and for 16 Samuel DiSora despite a retirement in race 2.

Unfortunately, the second part of the season would prove more difficult for the Flembbo driver, and relations with his team would become somewhat strained. Like Marc Garcia who had dominated the first part of the season before falling back, and despite big points still scored at Most and to a lesser extent at Magny-Cours, the French Samuel DiSora endured a difficult weekend in Barcelona then concluded its season 9th in Portimão and 5th in the championship.

Conversely, Hugo De Cancellis had a solid end to the season, finishing 2nd in Barcelona then Portimão, which allowed him to conclude the championship in 3rd position, behind the inaccessible Alvaro Diaz and the late Victor Steeman. A nice progression which allows it to eye the Supersport 600 for 2023, while a priori Samuel DiSora would leave again for a year in 300, this time in the old team ofHugo De Cancellis...

Sylvain Markarian finished anonymously, 32nd with 7 points,

The 2023 champion, Alvaro Diaz, should benefit from the bLU cRU program and move to one of the Supersport 600 teams fielding Yamahas, but nothing has yet been made official at the moment.
