The qualifying day started well for the French colors with the best time for the Mistral designed by Tech 3, and driven this weekend in Portugal by Hector Garzo. Corentin Perolari also augured well for this Saturday with a time in the top 10 for Christian Boudinot's TransFIORmers. Cédric Tangre was not to be outdone with thirteenth position.

Here are the results of the first Moto2 qualifying session:

In the second and final qualifying session, Augusto Fernandez took an undeniable advantage in 1'44.4 on his Suter, ahead of the Kalex of Xavier Cardelus and Jesko Raffin. Corentin Perolari was eleventh and Cédric Tangre sixteenth, while Philippe Le Gallo (in Superstock) was a little further back in 1'57.
