It was in the morning that the conditions were best for achieving the fastest times on the Albacete circuit. Championship leader Steven Odendaal won ahead of the two local drivers Iker Lecuona and Augusto Fernandez, while Alan Techer preserved his hopes for the title by setting the fourth fastest time. None of the leading men improved during the afternoon, and Alan Techer will start this Sunday at noon on the second row alongside the Brazilian Eric Granado and the Japanese Tetsuta Nagashima.

In the first of the two qualifying sessions, the South African Steven Odendaal, compatriot of the Moto3 World Championship leader Brad Binder, set the best time in 1'31.970, ahead of the two Spaniards Iker Lecuona and Augusto Fernandez, and the Frenchman Alan Techer . Thibaut Bertin occupied twelfth place, his teammate Guillaume Raymond twenty-second, and Thibaut Gourin twenty-eighth overall, but fourth in Superstock.

Augusto Fernandez held first place for a long time in the afternoon session in 1'32.6, then Odendaal overtook him with a quarter of an hour to go in 1'32.3. Anthony West was then surprisingly only nineteenth at 2.7. Finally Odendaal retained the best time thanks to his morning performance, ahead of Iker Lecuona and Augusto Fernandez, also credited with a faster time in the morning. Alan Techer kept his fourth time, while Thibaut Bertin qualified twelfth, Guillaume Raymond twenty-second and Thibaut Gourin twenty-eighth (fourth Superstock). Two drivers from the Grands Prix did not obtain extraordinary results, Anthony West qualifying twenty-first and Ana Carrasco twenty-third, the Australian and the Spaniard sandwiching Guillaume Raymond.
