The grip on the Albacete circuit was much better in the morning than in the afternoon and this benefited those who were incisive from the first session, like the Italian Lorenzo Dalla Porta, excellent twelfth in the recent Dutch Grand Prix at Assen ahead of Niccolo Antonelli and Jules Danilo. Andi Farid's second place was a little more surprising as he has never scored a single championship point this year in six races, unlike third-place finisher Marcos Ramirez who currently sits second in the provisional standings.

Lorenzo Dalla Porta did not allow any of his opponents the privilege of leading the first timed practice session and he won in 1'34.552 ahead of the astonishing Indonesian Andi Farid and the second in the provisional championship standings Marcos Ramirez. Farid, born August 14, 1997 in Bulukumba, is one of the five Asia Talent Team drivers present in CEV. Raul Fernandez fourth then preceded Karel Hanika, who came down from the Grands Prix. Enzo Boulom occupied twenty-fourth position and Lyvann Luchel thirty-eighth overall, third in “Production”.

In the second and final session, Championship leader Dalla Porta took command, but was dispossessed mid-session by Kaito Toba, one of the brilliant Japanese drivers from the Asia Talent team. The Italian regained the upper hand in 1'35.407 five minutes from the checkered flag, closely followed by Toba and his teammate Ayumu Sasaki. But we were lapping about a second slower than this morning, and everyone's efforts were in vain to improve their places on the starting grid for this seventh round of the Junior World Championship.

Behind Dalla Porta, Farid and Ramirez, Raul Fernandez, Karel Hanika and Alonso Lopez qualified on the second row. Kaito Toba (fourth in the championship) was only eighth, and Makar Iurchenko, the Kazakh top driver for Alex Rins' team, was only sixteenth. Enzo Boulom ranked twenty-fourth and Martinican Lyvann Luchel thirty-eighth and third “Production”.
