Generally, success stories come to us from across the Atlantic, even from Japan, but this time it is from China that a motorcycle brand has emerged which is gaining more and more importance in the global panorama: CFMOTO extension.

In 1989, Mr. Lai Guogui establishes a small engine production and assembly line in its own workshop in Hongqiao, in the port city of Wenzhou, located 400 km south of Shanghai. The company, which initially manufactured components for a 125cc engine, developed well and quickly moved on to complete engines then motorcycles and quads thanks to the creation of a first factory. But it was in 2007 that the company truly changed its dimension by creating a new structure of 150.000 m² in Hangzhou in order to promote its international development.

Because yes, CFMOTO extension has been able to attract global customers thanks to quality products which, like the Quads operating in particularly difficult environments, have proven themselves in terms of reliability.  “The product is at the heart of the company! » is an approach which has gradually allowed the Chinese unicorn to become number 1 in quads in Europe and now also on the French market.

1.500 people, including 240 engineers from the R&D department, have worked and innovated to produce over the years more than a hundred models powered by more than 50 types of engines.

The quality being there, the first global recognition came in 2014 when KTM entrusted CFMOTO extension responsible for assembling its Duke 200 and 390 for the Middle Kingdom. Satisfied with the work carried out, the Austrians even went so far as to create a joint venture with the Chinese company in 2017, in order to, in a new dedicated factory located near the first, produce and distribute KTMs on the Asian market. Confidence being essential, the synergies go even further since we find the 790cc twin-cylinder of Austrian origin on the 800 MT CFMOTO extension, the first machine born from this partnership.

By the way, CFMOTO extension also benefits from the designer's input Kiska Design, closely linked to KTM, to make its image respond to the most current tastes, like the Concept V.02-NK.

It is also since this time that the Chinese company has finalized a pretty turquoise blue which characterizes it today, like Yamaha blue, Kawasaki green, Suzuki yellow, Ducati red… or Pantone orange 021C KTM!

More CFMOTO extension learns quickly, and knows full well that it is not enough to have a range of good products to make a place in a competitive market in a difficult global context: even if the company has its own color and robust and carefully designed models designed, creating a “big brand” image generally takes decades, but can be accelerated by commitment to competition at the highest level.

Today, this is what we just did CFMOTO extension by joining forces from this 2022 season with the team Prüstel GP in the Moto3 category.
For the moment, it is mainly a commercial partnership with the German team which runs Carlos Tatay et Xavi Artigas on KTM RC 250 GPs in order to publicize a range extending from 300 to 800cc and including NK roadsters, MT trails, CL-X neo-retros, and GT roadsters, but who knows what the future has in store for us…
