Women's World Championship

Discover the reactions of the French drivers involved in the Women's World Championship, after the fourth round of the season at Misano.

The Women's World Championship held its fourth round of the season last weekend at the Misano circuit in Italy. María Herrera won both races and has seriously increased his lead in the overall standings over Beatrice Neila et Paola Ramos.

On the French side, one of the drivers was missing. It was... Lucie Boudesseul, seriously injured after a crash during her participation in the FSBK at Nogaro, and who is out for at least two rounds. She is replaced by Justine Pedemonte who, like Emily Bondi et Line VieillardIt wasn't an easy weekend. All three made mistakes during one of the two races.

EMILY BONDI – 10th and Fall

Emily Bondi

Overall ranking: 16th

Race 1 : “Four seconds off the podium, I finished this race in the top 10 for the first time this year. This year, the level is so high that it’s very difficult to get into the top 10. I’m proud to show how hard we’ve worked since this winter with my coach Antiga.”

Race 2 : "What a Race 2! It wasn't my best start, coming in 16th at the first corner, but lap after lap I climbed back up, passing one girl after another to finish tenth, at the head of the group! With the fourth fastest lap time (1'48″3), less than half a second off the fastest time, it was incredible. I think we showed a bit of the progress we've made so far, especially with the pace I showed today and this weekend, in addition to yesterday's top 10 finish.

“I really loved riding this weekend, I had fun, I felt good on the bike and I loved fighting my way back through the field. Unfortunately, I crashed on the last lap, which is frustrating for points… but honestly, I’m really happy and proud of what we achieved together this weekend and our progress in this championship.” We still have a lot of work to do, but feeling the pace improve and seeing the progress gives us renewed motivation and confidence to keep attacking.

LINE VIEILLARD – Fall and 15th

Line Vieillard

Overall ranking: 18th

Race 1 : "After a good start in the right group, I made a mistake on the third lap and lost contact. And to top it all off, I crashed (without serious injury) on the penultimate lap. Sorry to my whole team."

Race 2 : "Definitely not the weekend we were hoping for, but the motivation is still as strong as ever, we'll come back stronger at Donington. Thanks to my whole team, and my sincerest apologies to Tayla Collins for causing her crash."

JUSTINE PEDEMONTE – Fall and 12th

Overall ranking: 23th

Race 1 : “After a difficult start, I found a very good race rhythm and began to understand this new bike, catching up to the group at the front! But when you push the limits, you find them… I apologize to my partners and GMT94 Yamaha, but I will be tenth on the grid again tomorrow for a second chance (and I’m very motivated).”

Race 2 : “‘A lot of experience.’ These two words sum up my weekend. Today, a few technical issues prevented me from feeling confident on the bike… The setup that suited me on Saturday didn’t work on Sunday.”

“No regrets because I did my best, I’m still learning about this R7 and the potential is there! I have confidence in us to prove what we’re really capable of. Thanks to the GMT94 Yamaha team for the atmosphere and the work this weekend.”

Join us from July 10th to 12th at Donington Park, England, for the fifth round of the Women's World Championship.
