This 1957 Italian film, which deals with motorcycle racing in many forms, has been restored by Roddagio Film, a specialized Italian company which distributes, for example, “The Best Bar in America”, winner of the first “Motorcycle Film Festival” in New York.

This company has a large catalog of motorcycle films, and so for Metzeler / Pirelli it created and managed an unprecedented 48-hour non-stop marathon of motorcycle-themed screenings, which took place at Eicma in 2015 and 2016.

“I fidanzati della Morte” was filmed in 1957 by Romolo Marcellini. It is a film intended for the general public (hence the dubiously tasteful title) and not for enthusiasts. But it’s an opportunity to discover another era. We can see, for example, the Moto Guzzi wind tunnel.

The Moto Guzzi, Gilera, Mondial and other Nortons featured in this film are driven, among others, by Geoff Duke, Libero Liberati, Bill Lomas, Enrico Lorenzetti, Reg Armstrong, Stanley Woods, Ken Cavanagh, Dickie Dale, Thomas Campbell and Pierre Monneret.
