Fausto Gresini continues to support young Italian drivers and strengthens his Junior team in CIV for this new season with a major sponsor.
Team Gresini Racing consolidates itself in CIV (Italian Speed Championship) with its Junior project. Indeed, this season, it will be able to count on an important sponsor, Total Italy, to support it. The team is also renamed the Junior Team TOTAL Gresini. Total's brand image will highlight the project which will bring together three young Italian pilots: Luca Gresini (son of Fausto), Leonardo Taccini and Alessandro Morosi.
For his third year on the team, Luca Gresini, 19, will be the leader and will aim to score points in each race. For his part, Leonardo Taccini, 16, is also in his third season in CIV, but this will be his first with the team. Already a winner in CIV Pre Moto3 125cc and 250cc, his best result in CIV Moto3 is sixth place. Finally, the young Alessandro Morosi, just 14 years old, dominated the Pre Moto3 250cc in 2018 and will have to discover and adapt to the CIV this year.
Fausto Gresini : “As always, Gresini Racing focuses on youth. I think it's a bit of our trademark, if you can put it that way. Three young drivers will defend our colors this season during which we will try to be the protagonists. We do not forget that Morosi will make his debut in the category, but for Leonardo and Luca the expectations will be a little higher. The other big news this year will be our change of main sponsor. After last year's collaboration, Total will now be an integral part of the team and I am sure that this will give us a big helping hand in this adventure which has always been very close to my heart. »
