After a few haphazard attempts to resurrect the brand, Polaris arrived with a serious project and acquired then relaunched Indian in 2013.
To promote the brand, Indian declared war on Harley-Davidson in dirt track, thrilling the hearts of big twin-cylinder fans in America. The workhorse is the FTR750 whose selling price is $49, with a special price for pilots of $000. It's expensive for a dirt bike, but it is clearly more advanced than its competitor. The Milwaukee manufacturer is perfectly aware of the obsolescence of its current model and presented a magnificent new product, the Harley-Davidson XG750R, 85 x 66 mm, 4 valves, injection, liquid cooling, designed by Vance & Hines.
La nouvelle Indian Scout FTR750 made its racing debut as a pre-manufactured prototype on September 25 at the Ramspur Winery Santa Rosa Mile AMA Pro Flat Track race in Santa Rosa, California. For 2017, the three official drivers are Bryan Smith, Brad Baker and Jared Mees.
