It was the main subject of the press conference on Thursday and it took place on Friday, for more than an hour... The Safety Commission therefore brought together a number of pilots this time, to talk about Barcelona, of course, but also to address other circuits, such as the Sachsenring where the clearances are sometimes very limited.

Concerning Barcelona, two options were considered.
One, defended by the majority of drivers present on site behind Marc Marquez, would consist of retaining the F1 track, the one which was used during the last Grand Prix, but by providing greater clearances for turns 9 and 13.

The other, proposed by Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, would use the usual route by widening the escape from the disastrous turn 12, which would require the movement of the grandstand facing it.

The two proposals will now be submitted to the management of the Catalunya-Barcelona circuit which will return to Dorna in a few weeks with feasibility studies. A final decision will then be made collectively.
