Paolo Simoncelli

After the Italian Grand Prix MotoGP at Mugello, we shared with you the strong dissatisfaction from Hervé Poncharal with certain decisions of the FIM MotoGP Stewards panel (We can not emphasize this enough, It is not the Race Direction who imposes the penalties!) and it is now Paolo Simoncelli who speaks out against the verbalizing trio…

On the Italian circuit, it is Daniel Holgado who was penalized with two Long Laps during the race, ruining all his chances of finishing well and dealing a blow to the morale of the Tech3 driver who is fighting for the world title.

In the report of his national Grand Prix, Paolo Simoncelli, whose outspokenness we also know (and appreciate), doesn't beat around the bush

« Finally, we can say again “Al Mugello non si dorme” (In Mugello, we don’t sleep)!
Try to explain to someone who has never been there the embracing scent of grass and gasoline, the thousand colors that parade down the hill, the flags that wave in the air. The roar of the chainsaws, the chaotic lawn and the incredibly passionate and ferociously alive audience.

I'm still not sure if the track was packed because of the thrilling races or the lawn parties, but whatever the reason, we're happy about it, even if some conspired against the spectacle. Race management, to name just one, with its classic and questionable way of applying “double standards”. Their (because it is a group of people) absurd decisions, never taken coherently, make me think they are looking at other images instead of VAR. I cannot explain the penalty given to Holgado for irresponsible driving, when his maneuver was simply to avoid the rider in front of him. I also don't understand why Zurutuza wasn't penalized, because he involved Farioli in his fall. In my opinion, these are two racing incidents which should not be sanctioned, they can happen. They are far from the irresponsible behavior that we are talking about, and if we really want to consider them as such, it is better to stay at home peeling potatoes next time. »

After Johann zarco in Jerez, Enea Bastianini in Barcelona, Francis Bagnaia, fabio quartararo et Hervé Poncharal at Mugello, to name only the most recent who dare to express themselves publicly, the list of those who do not understand all the decisions taken is growing today by the name of Paolo Simoncelli.

Your reactions on social networks also prove that you share this state of affairs. So when the actors of the show themselves do not understand, and before this spreads to the entire public and tends to discredit the entire show, it would probably be time to sit down around a table to, at least, decide thata minimum of explanation is necessary, both for drivers and teams and spectators...
